Vintage Japanese Kokeshi Dolls
Originally exchanged as tokens of friendship & given to newborns as guardians of their souls. Iconic symbols of craftsmanship & spiritual protection & considered highly auspicious 'lucky charms'. They originated in the Tohoku region of Japan, with hot springs during the late Edo period, 1600 - 1868 & continued to be made; they are signed by the artisans underneath.
Each one is hand painted and individually sized, so therefore unique!
